Fine Arts Council Conference 2025: Arts Unleashed

Dan is Executive Staff Officer in the ATA’s Professional Development program. Before joining the ATA in January 2016, Dan worked as a teacher and learning leader for the CBE, as an instructor and research assistant at the U of A, and as a senior manager for YMCA Calgary. In 2011, they received both the Alberta Excellence in Teaching Award and the Prime Minister’s Award for Teaching Excellence for creating engaging and inclusive learning experiences for students and teachers alike. Proudly queer and neurodiverse, Dan encourages others to champion their “inner geek” by leveraging their passions, experiences, and authentic selves in their teaching and learning.
